About Boerne Wild West Day

Boerne Wild West Day is a one-of-a-kind event, organized to provide high entertainment and educational value while benefitting a number of local charitable and good causes.  Some of these include:

Organized by the Rotary Club of Boerne, Boerne Wild West Day is a culmination of the efforts of many, including our event sponsors.

BWWD is set on the frontier of Enchanted Springs Ranch to give to those who come a chance to experience a romantic period of our heritage where nobility and honor were challenged by American life and issues that formed our country, which still are sources of anxieties.  This was a time when life was both simple and yet complicated, when all people had to work hard just to survive. Our citizenry wasn't frightened by anything or anybody, even when men and women had nothing but their faith and desire to defend themselves and what they love.  The wild west was a time of new beginnings, settling of new lands that were raw, pure and lawless, and that gave us the tales of color, courage and reckless bravado found in the cowboys and native Americans, miners, mountain men, cattlemen, pony express riders, lawgivers and law-takers.

The theme provides a family day of enriching entertainment and history full of stagecoach rides, gunfights and numerous exhibitions of valor, skill and bravery displayed by professional performers including live music and a Texas Hold'em poker tournament.  BWWD now is the venue for the annual Early Act First Knight (www.eafk.org) convention where thousands of children ages 5-13 are invited to come from their schools and showcase character building and service above self sponsored by numerous Rotary Clubs across Texas, Oklahoma and South Carolina.
