BWWD to feature attractions for all
Rodeo clown Leon Coffee, poker tournament, Native American wedding among highlights
(BOERNE, Texas) Gunslingers, pioneer reenactments and more will be featured at the sixth-annual Boerne Wild West Day, to be held October 25 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Enchanted Springs Ranch in Boerne. The family-centered festival has continued to add events, attractions and vendors to cater to the expected 5,000 attendees.
Some of the event's notable attractions will include:
- World-famous rodeo clown Leon Coffee. A Blanco native and Texas Rodeo Cowboy Hall of Fame inductee, Coffee has entertained the public for decades on the rodeo circuit, in the bullring and even through the silver screen.
- Tim St. John, cowboy magician and illusionist. The cowboy who always has a trick up his sleeve will dazzle attendees with card tricks and illusions.
- Texas Hold 'Em Poker Tournament. Ambitious card sharks will have the opportunity to play for a total of $5,000 in cash prizes. A $100 buy-in will give a maximum of 100 entrants the opportunity to claim honors as the Boerne Wild West Day Poker Champion.
- Authentic Native American wedding. Festival attendees will have the pleasure of witnessing a traditional Native American wedding, presided over by a medicine man.
- Trick roper Doug Whitaker. This multi-talented cowboy combines storytelling and humor with impressive displays of roping and gun spinning.
- Civil War reenactment and soldier encampment. The 6th Texas Infantry Regiment will join with Hood's Texas Brigade, Bonnie Blue Confederates, Lone Star Grays and Alamo City Guards to recreate the War Between the States.
- A variety of food vendors. Barbecue will be served by The Salt Lick and handmade cobbler will be cooked up by the Lone Star Dutch Oven Society.
In addition, the festival will feature hayrides and stagecoach rides, music and dancing, a mechanical bull and other attractions. Kids will be thrilled by the kiddie corral, animal park and chances to prove their own cowboy skills in the mutton busting and calf scramble competitions.
