Texas Hold 'em Tournament Details

Welcome to the second Boerne Wild West Day Texas Hold 'Em Tournament!  A maximum of 100 players will vie for up to $5,000 in cash prizes.  Donations of $100 are requested but not required. The tournament starts at 11:00 AM on the morning of Boerne Wild West Day, October 23, 2010.  For more information about the tournament, please call 210-269-6138 (Jack) or 210-816-2211 (Karen).

Western Attire Requested

Western attire is requested, as the tournament will take place within the context of a Wild West saloon reenactment. 

Distribution of Earnings

Half of all donations received with be awarded in cash prices, not to exceed $5,000, in the following percentages:

  • 1st place -  50%
  • 2nd place - 25%
  • 3rd place -  15%
  • 4th place - 10%

Will you have a cutoff for registered participants?

We will cap the tournament at 100 entrants.

What are the rules?

Chips will be issued for all participants who have donated a ticket whether or not they are present at the start of the tournament. The blinds of people who have donated and are not present at the start of the tournament will have their blinds deducted from their chips until the first break, about an hour and 15 minutes after the start of the tournament.  At the end of the first break they will be out of the tournament if they are not present.

What is the timing of the tournament?

20 minutes before the first blind increase, then 19 minutes, 18 minutes, 17 minutes, 16 minutes, with the time between subsequent blind increases being 15 minutes.  At some point, the director of the tournament may adjust the time between blind increases to less than 15 minutes.

Is it no-limit?

Yes.
